From Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. A city is a relatively large and permanent settlement, particularly a large urban settlement. Although there is no agreement on technical definitions distinguishing a city from a town within general English language meanings, many cities have a particular administrative, legal, or historical status based on local law. For example, an article of incorporation approved by the local cognizant (state) legislature separates towns from city government forms, rights, duties and privileges in Massachusetts, and similar distinctions are made across the world, particularly in former colonies of the United Kingdom. Historically, in Europe, a city was understood to be an urban settlement with a cathedral; in later usages, especially in the United Kingdom and parts of Commonwealth of Nations, a city was a settlement with a royal charter. Cities generally have advanced systems for sanitation, utilities, land usage, housing, transportation and more. The concentration of development greatly facilitates interaction between people and businesses, benefiting both parties in the process. A big city, or metropolis, usually has associated suburbs and regions. Such cities are usually associated with metropolitan areas and urban sprawl, creating numerous business commuters traveling to urban centers of employment. Once a city sprawls far enough to reach another city, this region can be deemed a conurbation or megalopolis. From Wikipedia under the

What city in the United States would you recommend friends to visit and what is one city in the United States you would not recommend friends to visit? The City I recommend is Chicago and the City I least recommend is Detroit. Asked by Mr. Knowledgeable VI - Thu Feb 22 12:01:04 2007 - - 10 Answers - 1 Comments A. Chicago, hands down. It might be because I've been born and raised in the burbs of Chicago, but it has everything: music, food, museums, a great nightlife, businesses, great colleges, festivals!!, and everything else you will ever need. My second place would be Washington DC, because it is amazing. A great nightlife, politicians around every corner, more happy hours than you can count, museums that are free, great public transportation, good food, etc. Again, I might be biased because I lived there for awhile. Yeah Detroit is not the best place ever, but a lot of the town outside of there are great. If you want a good Michigan city, try Grand Rapids, it's now the largest city in MI and it is pretty rockin for a small city. Answered by Awesome Alisa - Thu Feb 22 19:59:37 2007 What is the second most important city in New Jersey, USA? Q. Is it Newark or Jersey City? first city is Trenton because of the Government and the Capital City. But what is the second important city? Asked by ZOLA-MAGICIAN - Sat Oct 4 09:51:40 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments A. I'd go and say Newark, just for the history and businesses in there. Plus the Devils are there, so that automatically makes it an important city if theres a NHL team there. Answered by Fall Beauty - Sat Oct 4 10:00:33 2008 How was Shambhala supposed to be a hidden city in Uncharted 2?
Q. Shambhala is the name of the city in Uncharted 2, where the Chintamani Stone, is supposed to be hidden. When you finally arrive to Shambhala in the game, it is a wide open city in a valley of mountains. Clearly it would have been discovered at this point, and would not really have been a hidden city. Why wouldn't they put the city underground somewhere? Asked by Nando - Thu Oct 22 19:41:18 2009 - - 4 Answers - 1 Comments A. Hahaha. That was EXACTLY what I thought. Surely they could just land a plane from the sky. There was no point of going through those temples. It should've been underground, like you said. Oh well, it's only a game.
