North Texas (also commonly called North Central Texas or Northeastern Texas) is a distinct cultural and geographic area forming the central-northeastern section of the U.S. state of Texas. North Texas is generally considered to include the area south of Oklahoma, east of Abilene, and north of Waco. North Texas, being more precisely the northern part of the eastern portion of Texas, does not include the Panhandle of Texas, despite the fact that it extends farther north.

North Texas is centered upon the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex, the largest metropolitan area in Texas. People in the Dallas and Fort Worth areas sometimes use the terms "Metroplex" and "North Texas" interchangeably. However, North Texas actually refers to a much larger area that includes many rural counties.

I am looking for a small town in North Texas to visit. Any ideas?
Q. I am from a small town in central Texas, but moved to north Texas for college. So, I am now looking for a small town in the north Texas area to visit. You know, those small towns with nice downtown areas. Pretty much anything that is the opposite of Dallas/Ft Worth. Thanks so much!

A. Corsicana baby!! Ok thats just becuse I live here. I liked Gainsville though, just shy of Oklahoma border. But Mc Kinney is nice if you want to be a stones throw from Dallas.

Does Pulsatilla grow well in North Texas?
Q. I just sowed its seeds. I am currently soaking them in water because I bought these seeds online and they therefore are not fresh. I am also aware that it may take even one year to just see them germinate. I just would like to know if they can stand the heat of North Texas or should I do something in order to protect it. Thanks! I plan on leaving them in a container

A. Most wild flowers can handle TX heat. Your seeds don't require soaking and should germinate in 2-4 weeks with a temperature of 63-73 degrees. If they don't sprout in 6 weeks, cold treat 2-6 weeks and try again. The wet paper towel method works for Anemone seeds too.

University of North Texas or Sam Houston State for Accounting?
Q. (University of North Texas) - Denton, TX (Sam Houston State University)- Huntsville, TX I know UNT has a better Accounting Program. I would rather live in the Houston area after I graduate, but UNT might be a better college expierence since it's a bigger school. They also have good internship oppurtunities there also, which means I could end up living in the Dallas area after I graduate. If you had to choose between the 2 universities, which would you choose.

A. I attend Sam Houston State University and it is a good school. The size of the school shouldn't make the college experience any less good. Sam Houston has about 16,000 students this spring and the class sizes are great many classes have 48 students or less which is a plus for me. I am studying english and mass communications but I know the business and accounting departments are really good and may good internships are available in whatever program you are in at Sam Houston. I would go with Sam Houston.
