What effect does the arts and entertainment industry have on the national economy??

A. It brings in tourists, notably big spending Americans and Japanese, who love to go to the theatre. The revenue taken at the box office, hotel accommodation, restaurants etc, is considerable. It is known as an invisible export. Invisible because there is no tangible item purchased. Instead the tourist has paid money to be entertained, to have a nights sleep, and to be fed. Do you distinguish art from entertainment/decoration or is it all the same to you? How do you distinguish?
Q. if you do and is something political more or less likely to be artistic in your opinion? Why? I definitely distinguish. To me decorations can be just as aesthetically beautiful as art, and art can be very entertaining but the difference is that art affects you deeper it makes you think and/or feel and you are not always sure why. Politics muddy art because they are shallow focusing outward on fixing other people as apposed to art which should be more spiritual and self-reflective not only to the artist but to the person who appreciates it. There is no real correct answer so I'll put this to a vote

A. I think it's all a matter of personal opinion. Personally, I hate anything political. If I love to look at it it's both art and decoration to me. It's something peaceful to me rather than entertainment. I'm obviously just talking about pictures/paintings. Art comes in many forms.
