Bases

What are some good bases to be stationed at?
Q. My husband is in AIT and we are doing his "wish list" and the only ones to choose from for the number one pick are polk, campbell, riley, stewart, carson, and lewis. I know that just because you put it on the list doesn't mean that's where you'll go but i was just curious. Does anyone know if these bases frequently deploy a lot of units? Also, are these good areas for a family? Thanks!

A. Any bases closest to your living would be beneficial for your family and your husband. And to your question about which bases gets frequently deployed is not determined by which base your in.. It is determined which group your in and what jobs are needed on the deployment mission. So dont think this base has less deployoment rate than the other, it all varies. Ex: If your infantrymen, no matter what base your in, you will get deployed often. It depends on the need of the military and the need for that job to be used to help whatever branch of military your husband is.

How do you tell the difference between an acids and bases in chemistry?
Q. I know the definitions of acids and bases but i dont understand how to tell the difference between acids and bases in the formula or conjugate or weak acids and bases as well

Hello there, I wrote an article on Wikibooks on the properties of acids and bases, in which I also discuss conjugate acids and bases: However, I do not discuss weak acids and bases in-depth so I will answer your question here. You can differentiate between strong and weak acids and bases based on a pH indicator. Recall that weak acids and bases do not fully dissociate in water, so the concentration of hydronium ions (as determined by a pH indicator) would be around neutral. For example, if you had a unknown acid sample of pH 2, then you would know that it is NOT a weak acid. Hope this helps.

What happens if a player hits a home run and gets injured running around the bases?
Q. A player hits a home run, but while rounding one of the bases, collapses, due to some sort of injury, and cannot finish running around the bases. Do they count it as a home run?

A. In Major League Baseball, the team is allowed to substitute a pinch runner for the injured player. The team is entitled to all the bases, so the PR completes the trot and is credited the run scored (the batter is credited all other stats). Very similar situation, in 2005 Gabe Kapler was on 1B when Tony Graffanino homered for the Red Sox. Kapler tore some ligaments rounding 2B and went down. After a few minutes, he was helped from the field (Graf had been crouching between 1B and 2B -- still not permitted to pass a teammate baserunner), a PR went in, and completed the trot.
