What's the cheapest and easiest way to move a bunch of stuff across the continent?
Q. I'd like to move across the continent within the next few months, but am young and broke. I'm trying to think of inexpensive and relatively easy options for moving all my clothes and books and other things from Canada to the southern US. Does anyone have any ideas, experience or wisdom to share?
Asked by lindsay - Sat Aug 18 08:03:51 2007 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Contact the major moving truck rental and car agencies in your area. Often, they will have vehicles that they want moved from one place to another. If you have a good driving record, they typically pay just enough for food, gas, and cheap lodging. People who do this typically have to start in a place where people are generally moving too, not out of.

How possible would it be to move Canada to a different continent?
Q. Could we blast a fault across the border, then use jet engines to move the entire continent?

A. We dont have the funding, precision-based firepower, or ethical support to accomplish such a feat. And how exactly do u plan 2 find jet engines strong enough to move Canada. Even if u pulled it off u would put a lot of the upper US below sea level. And you generate an earthquake of biblical proportions which in turn given the new shoreline produces montrous tsunamis and lets not forget the new supervolcano that will be created from this questionable endeavor. There u just got powned RTARD!!! LOL bitch

How did people used to know how far around the earth/a continent it is? There were no speedometers, obviously?
Q. Before there were jets and cars, how were maps made? How did people know how far across a continent/ocean it was? In a lot of old books, they talk about "leagues", but how did they measure this?
Asked by Me - Tue Jan 27 12:29:53 2009 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Yep - they use math and the old art of hands on measuring but even then, if you were to look at old world maps, you'll see that there methods were far from perfect. Some "authentic" maps are so far off that it looks like you're looking at a different world all together.
