Since most people receive their information from the "media" (newspaper, TV and radio) and they don't bother to research the information from a variety of other sources, the media's owners/editors bias will tend to affect how people perceive ideas, etc. outside of their personal knowledge. Virtually every time I read in the newspaper or such about an event that I am familiar with with first hand knowledge, the information from the "media's" account is inaccurate or contains information to titillate.
