The volume of any solid, liquid, plasma, vacuum or theoretical object is how much three-dimensional space it occupies, often quantified numerically. I've just finished recording and mixing my bands new song and although it's mixed i know that once i've rendered it it will not be a similar volume to other artist's music on my ipod for example.
